pregnancy meditation

As we already mentioned. It helps in reducing the stress that often accompanies major life changes like pregnancy. It even helps with pregnancy symptoms, including fatigue, sleep disturbances, and mood swings, and postpartum depression too. Studies also found that doing meditation during pregnancy helps in lower anxiety, depression, and perceived stress.

Meditation is especially helpful when you are in labor if you practice it regularly. It reduces some fear of the unknown up to some extent that goes along with labor. A combination of deep breathing with meditation helps to soften and relax your central nervous system during childbirth. It can improve your labor experience and also decrease your perceptions of the pain and length of labor.

Proper mediation enhanced the connection between you and your baby. It even helps your baby to develop into a calmer, more positive, and creative human being. As the mantra chants and resonant sounds create calmer and happier babies.

Few Tips for New Meditator Mom

meditation

Meditation is a powerful practice. It can transform your energy and stress levels. But it can be difficult to do on your own when you are new to meditation. You might feel quite hard to let go of distractions even for a few solid minutes. This where the following tips will assist.

Sit comfortably. You can use a pregnancy pillow or cushion.

Close your eyes.

You don’t have to make an effort to control your breath; simply breathe naturally.

Focus your attention on the breath and on how the body feels with each inhalation and exhalation.

Simply focus your attention on your breath without controlling its pace.

If your mind wanders, don’t worry, just return your focus to your breath.

Maintain this practice for two to three minutes to start, and then try it for a longer time gradually. If you want, you can meditate with soothing music.

Meditation can help you cope with various physical and emotional stresses during pregnancy. It makes you able to relax and focus your concentration, lower stress, reduce your blood pressure, and finally enhance your peace of mind. But it is necessary that you talk to your gynecologist openly and honestly if you are experiencing pregnancy anxiety or depression so that you can find the best remedies together.

Altogether, pregnancy is the ideal time to learn and restart a meditation practice because you are benefiting two souls- you and your mini-version. Remember when you do meditation it should not be a struggle or a chore.
